Our last Hedgerow Theatre show was two days ago and we already have the next two shows scheduled. It looks like the Once Upon A River show (the history of Pennsylvania) for schools will be in February, and Romeo and Juliet will be in March.

Wilma in Syria

Wilma left for Syria for a few months, like she usually does each winter. We all had a great time at Longwood Gardens before taking her to the airport.

My father, Set, hosted First Lady Laura Bush at the Woodrow Wilson House museum. Mrs. Bush came to see my father's white house china collection, which is on loan to the museum.
Hedgerow Board

Pastor Emeritus

My father-in-law, Soghomon Nuyujukian, was named pastor emeritus at Armenian Martyrs' Congregational Church in Havertown, Pennsylvania. He served as their pastor from 1980 to 1986. The church's centennial anniversary banquet followed.
Robotics

Matthew's and Luke's team won the Pennsylvania robotics championship, competing against seventy teams. They will represent the state at the World Festival in Atlanta in April. (video of a previous competition)
Christmas Carol

Our entire family just completed rehearsal for A Christmas Carol at Hedgerow Theatre. The show runs from November 23rd to December 30th. We are in fourteen performances, starting December 6th. (advertisement)

Matthew and Luke took part in a Lego robotics team competition. His team took third place in overall points.

Our family toured the Statue of Liberty Island, Ellis Island, Groud Zero, and the New York financial district.

Christine, Wilma, Karin, and Catherine attended the US Open tennis championship in New York City.

Ara Died

Christine's brother, Ara Nuyujukian, 47, died today in an automobile accident near the Pyramid Hills of California. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. These newspaper articles describe the crash. This picture was taken two hours before the event.

Matthew won third place in the Delaware Valley Science Fair and will be attending the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also won the Future Scientist award from the US Department of Agriculture, and first place in microbiology for ninth grade.
Marbles Tournament

Luke and Peter participated in the Upper Darby Marbles Tournament. Luke came in first place and will attend the National Marbles Tournament in June for the fifth year.
Costa Rica Vacation

I have returned from my ten-day family vacation in Costa Rica. We saw an active volcano, water falls, animals, plants, and the ocean. We went horseback riding, hiking, white-water rafting, and swimming.

Matthew won a first place ribbon for 9th grade in the Greater Philadelphia Homeschool Science Fair. His experiment tested whether garlic inhibits bacteria growth.
